Description |
Tutor volunteers work towards the safety and well-being of children and youth by support them to be successful with their schoolwork. This helps to build confidence and a sense of future educational achievements. This both helps children be successful but gives parents a break. You might be helping a grade 4 student learn about history or helping to build a high school students’ confidence to get into college or university. If appropriate, visits might include physical active like going for a walk or playing in a near by park. Having someone who shows up regularly can be enough to make a huge difference. Commitment: 8 months (during the school year), once a week, 1-2 hours Subjects: all areas of study are required but the following are most in need; Math, Science, English, French Volunteers are needed for January start dates.
