| Description |
Mentors (children aged 5-12) and Youth Mentors (age 13-18+) work towards the safety and well-being of children and youth by providing opportunities for socialization and development of better life skills. Mentors provide regular supportive visits and friendship for children aged 5 to 12. They engage the child in activities such as baking, going to the park or playing sports together. Activities are flexible to the needs and interests of both child and volunteer. Volunteers in this role are responsible for planning weekly activities in the community. Expenses and KM's are reimbursed. Volunteers attend a full day training before starting and are supported throughout their placement with F&CSGW. Volunteers are needed for start dates early in the new year. Apply now in order to complete the application process before the next training. |
