Impact Statement The LDAWC was founded in 1973 out of a need to provide familial support, outside of the school system, for those affected by learning disabilities and ADHD. Our mission is to improve the lives of children, youth and adults with learning disabilities so that they can reach their full potential. We do so by prioritizing high-quality programming, resources, and educational events. Our vision is to continue building a community where learning disabilities are understood and accepted.
Description The LDAWC is looking for volunteers to support our Reading Rocks program in the
Spring of 2024. Specifically, we are looking for volunteers who will work one-on-one
with a child with learning disabilities to gain confident and motivation in their
reading skills. Tutors will develop an individualized reading plan for their child under the guidance of an LDAWC program facilitator. We will provide training and
mentorship so that you feel fully prepared to support your child.

* In person at a local, Guelph secondary school: John F Ross CVI
Minimum Duration Special event
Timing Weekday - Evening
Time Detail Monday May 6th to Thursday June 20th

You must be able to attend both tutoring days each week for the duration of the program (either for Group 1 or Group 2)

Group 1: Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm – 7:30pm
at John Ross Secondary School

Group 2: Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30pm – 7:30pm
at John Ross Secondary School
