| Description |
This virtual educational/literacy support program includes 10-12 registered learners in grades 2-4 or 5-8 paired with 1-2 tutors who will support them with supplementary educational and ESL literacy support. Each session will end with a language-based game facilitated in the larger group. This fall, the grade 2-4 group will run on Mondays 5:00pm-6:15pm and the grade 5-8 group will run Tuesdays from 5:00pm-6:15pm. Volunteer tutors are only asked to support one program/week but are welcome to support both if their schedule allows. All United for Literacy volunteer tutors are required to attend: 1) attend a 15-minute volunteer tutor interview (online) 2) a mandatory 2.5-hour new volunteer tutor training session Sat. January 17 or 24 10:00am-12:30pm (online). 3) Valid Police Check (no older than 6 months) or complete a Backcheck. |
