Description The Volunteer Coordinator plays a key role in engaging and supporting Yorklands Green Hub’s vibrant community of volunteers. This individual will recruit, onboard, and match volunteers to meaningful opportunities that support our environmental education programs, events, and land stewardship initiatives.

Training Details Orientation Session: New Volunteer Coordinators will receive an overview of Yorklands Green Hub’s mission, programs, and current volunteer structure.

Mentorship & Support: Ongoing guidance from a designated board member or program lead, with regular check-ins during the onboarding period.

Resources Provided: Access to volunteer management templates, communication tools, and event planning materials.

Skills Development: Optional opportunities to attend workshops or webinars on topics such as volunteer engagement, nonprofit leadership, and environmental education.

Collaborative Learning: You’ll be invited to team meetings and encouraged to share feedback, ideas, and innovations that strengthen our volunteer network.
Working Conditions Hybrid Environment: Combination of remote work and occasional in-person meetings or events at the Yorklands site (785 York Rd., Guelph) or other community locations.

Flexible Schedule: Approximately 4–6 hours per week, with some evening or weekend availability preferred for events or volunteer coordination.

Independent & Team Work: While much of the work can be done independently, collaboration with board members, program leads, and volunteers is essential.

Use of Technology: Regular use of email, spreadsheets, and shared digital platforms (e.g., Google Workspace, volunteer management tools).

Outdoor Involvement (Optional): Opportunities to join outdoor volunteer activities such as tabling, events, or stewardship, though not required.
