| Description | Yorklands Green Hub's Environmental Education Advisory Committee is seeking dedicated volunteers to support and guide our educational initiatives focused on environmental stewardship, conservation, and sustainability. Committee members will work collaboratively to develop, evaluate, and enhance educational programs and resources that engage the community and foster ecological awareness. This role involves providing input on program design, helping to identify community needs, and supporting the creation of impactful learning experiences for diverse audiences. | Training Details |
olunteers joining the Environmental Education Advisory Committee will receive an orientation covering Yorklands Green Hub’s mission, current educational programs, and strategic goals for community engagement. This initial training will introduce new members to the organization’s framework for environmental education, familiarize them with committee objectives, and outline the specific roles and responsibilities of committee members. Additional training sessions will focus on program development, effective environmental communication, and inclusive education practices. Committee members will also have access to resources on best practices in environmental education and ongoing mentorship from experienced Yorklands Green Hub staff or committee leads. Periodic workshops may be offered to enhance skills in areas like program evaluation, curriculum design, and community outreach, ensuring members are equipped with the knowledge and tools to make a meaningful impact. |
| Working Conditions | Volunteers on the Environmental Education Advisory Committee can expect a collaborative and flexible working environment that accommodates various schedules. Meetings are typically held on a monthly basis, either virtually or at accessible community locations, with opportunities for occasional in-person sessions for program development and evaluation activities.
