Position In-School Mentor - Site-Based 1-1 Mentoring
Location An assigned elementary school in Guelph & Wellington County
Impact Statement As you build a developmental relationship with a young person, you will be igniting their interests and potential.
Description The In-School Mentoring program provides youth with a role model and a friend to talk to and share the experiences of growing up. For one hour each week, mentors meet with their mentee and engage in fun activities such as board games, sports, crafts or just hang out during school hours at a local elementary school.

The In-School Mentoring program involves a commitment of one-hour weekly visits plus additional transit time for the duration of the school year (until at least April). Matches do not meet over the summer break or during other school holidays.

Training Details Training is provided on child safety & disclosure, and on relationship building.
Once matched, support from a professional caseworker is provided ongoingly.
Minimum Duration 7 - 12 months
Timing Weekday - Daytime
Time Detail Visits occur for an hour each week during the school day. Schedule is based on volunteer and child's schedule.
