Position # 4840
OrganizationGuelph Jazz Festival
Position Member of the Board of Directors - Contribute to the Guelph Jazz Festival as it Meets the Needs of Your Community: Join the GJF Board of Directors
Location 202-6 Dublin Street South
Description The Guelph Jazz Festival is currently welcoming new Directors to our Board. This is an exciting time to join the Festival; we are celebrating our 30th anniversary in 2023 — three decades of animating the city with world-class live music every September.

The GJF Board of Directors focuses on governance and policy, provides oversight on the organization’s activities and financing, and advises staff on key strategic and operational issues.

We aim for the Board to reflect the diversity of the regional and musical communities of which we are a part and that we serve. We are also looking for diversity in the skills Board members offer. We’re not only looking for Directors with prior Board experience or professional expertise. We also appreciate the fresh insights offered by artists, organizers, and other interested people who are passionate about bringing people together through music.

There are several Director positions available. We are looking for:

• Interest in and commitment to the Guelph Jazz Festival, the kind of programming it produces, and/or the communities it serves

• Capacity to commit to eight two-hour meetings (on average) per year, and additional availability (and initiative) for further engagement is welcome

• Professional experience in finance, legal, and/or fundraising

Though any interested candidates should reach out in case they can serve another important role on the GJF Board.

Questions about the organization and expressions of interest in becoming a Director of the Guelph Jazz Festival Board can be sent to by 10 February, 2023.
