Description New Way is an alternative school program. It is an Education and Community Partnership Program between the Upper Grand District School Board and Wyndham House, supported by CMHA and Family and Children's Services. There is a full-time teacher from the school board and a full-time worker from the agency on site at all times. We serve high school-aged students.

We have a school component and a therapeutic component. We run an art program as well as a healthy eating program supported by the Children's Foundation. We serve a maximum of 16 students in a day, 8 at a time.

New Way is a referral-only program and has a set attendance, so there is no drop-in component to the school; the same students attend regularly.

Volunteer duties: Helping out in the classroom, assisting with schoolwork, preparing snacks and assisting in making small meals, cleaning up classroom
