Impact Statement The Homewood Volunteer Association (HVA) is a registered charitable organization with a mission to support the quality of life of mental health and addiction patients at Homewood Health Centre. The Member-at-Large assists with the management of Association affairs and its governance and strategic direction. The Homewood Volunteer Association also operates the café and gift shop within the Homewood to serve patients visitors and staff.

We are committed to ensuring our Board reflects the diversity of our community and welcome resumes from all qualified individuals.
Description Member-at-Large attends monthly Board meetings as well as the annual general meeting; Commits to learn the Association and its functions and responsibilities within the health centre; Directs organizational operations, including policy development; Assists with management of projects undertaken by the Association; Assists with fund raising projects as needed; Commits to moving up into a suitable Board position as vacancies occur; Performs other Board tasks, as required.

Time Detail Wednesday: Afternoon 4:30 - 6:30 pm (once per month)

Board meetings take place on Wednesdays 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. once a month and there could be time required between meetings. Schedule flexibility is required.

The Board doesn't usually meet during the months of July and August unless a special meeting is necessary.

The term for a Board member is 2 years. Board members are elected each year at the Annual General Meeting held in September, or appointed by the Board of Directors to fill any vacancies in the interim. The Board currently meets virtually each month, however they may move to in-person meetings in the future.
