Description Thank you for considering serving on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Guelph Board of Directors. Supported by more than 300 volunteers, the agency provides mentoring programs to more than 600 local children each year, encouraging these youth to achieve their full potential. With an annual operating budget of more than $700,000, the agency is run by 10 professional staff members.

As a member of the Board of Directors, you will have opportunity to provide governing oversight, shaping the future of mentoring in the region, while working with dedicated and engaged colleagues and senior leaders.

This role requires a minimum time commitment of approximately 1.5 hours per month attending board meetings (July-August excluded) and 1.5 hours per month attending committee meetings. Each Board Member is expected to join one of the fundraising event committees, helping to execute the annual gala, bowling event, golf tournament, the run/marathon event, or the Big Chase. Time Detail We request a two year commitment to attending Board meetings held monthly from September through June. There are no board/committee meetings held in July/August. Event committee meetings take place monthly in the 4-6 months prior to the fundraising initiative.
