Description |
The Bookkeeper will take care of all festival day-to-day financial tasks, including accounts payable and receivable, along with all payroll and bank account management and reconciliation tasks. To do well in this role, the individual should have some previous accounting experience and familiarity with Sage accounting software. The festival’s retiring bookkeeper will provide training during the transition. Bookkeeper Responsibilities: • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process. • Reconcile bank accounts at the end of each month. • Monitor financial transactions and reports and maintain financial records. • Process accounts receivable and payable. • Process cheque requisitions and expense reimbursement reports. • Process payroll and government remittances for summer student employees and related tasks • Issue T4/T4A as required • Issue official donation receipts and donation acknowledgements as needed. • Assist the Treasurer with the preparation of festival’s annual budget and monthly reports to the board. • Work with Treasurer to provide auditors with information related to the year-end review/audit engagement, Public Service Body tax rebate filings, and Registered Charity Information Return. |

Working Conditions |
Training, Sage software and past fiscal year files will be provided. The Bookkeeper will provide their own computer and workspace. Possibility, if required, to attend occasional meetings, either in person or virtually. |
