| Description |
Encourage both a love of reading and math in this unique virtual activity-based program for learners in grades 2-5! This engaging math and literacy activity program, in partnership with the Parkwood Gardens Neighbourhood Group, involves volunteer tutors facilitating interactive literacy and numeracy activities. Tutors will also have the opportunity to engage in weekly 1:1 guided reading sessions with learners having the opportunity to select books from either the program’s library or the public library located in the West End Community Centre (West End Community Centre (21 Imperial Road). This program runts October to December and late January to end of March. | Training Details |
All United for Literacy volunteer tutors are required to attend: 1) attend a 15-minute volunteer tutor interview (online) 2) a mandatory 2.5-hour new volunteer tutor training session Sat. January 17 or 24 10:00am-12:30pm (online). 3) Valid Police Check (no older than 6 months) or complete a Backcheck. |
